Crop Innovation & Business Conference in Ghent

From March 24 to March 26, 2024, seven CEPLAS members participated in the “Crop Innovation & Business Conference” in Ghent (Belgium). CEPLAS is a partner of this annual conference. This year, two CEPLAS scientists (Shizue Matsubara and Edgar Demesa-Arevalo) were invited to give an oral presentation about their research. Other CEPLAS participants were engaged as chair of a session (Guido Grossmann) and as a panel member in a pitch session (Günter Strittmatter).

Every year, the “Crop Innovation & Business Conference” brings together a total of close to 200 participants, on the one hand representing Agri-Food business and, on the other hand, representing academia in the fields of plant sciences, plant breeding, plant biotechnology, computational biology and agronomy. Latest innovative developments in these fields are presented and discussed. The conference is an excellent platform to mediate contacts between academia and Agri-Food business, and to stimulate and initiate cooperations between the two sides.

Also this year, CEPLAS could present itself as a scientifically excellent and attractive research consortium for Public-Private-Partnerships.

In Ghent, Bart Thomma publicly announced that CEPLAS will be the hosting partner for the next “Crop Innovation & Business Conference”, from March 30 to April 01, 2025, in Cologne!
